10kdays took an unexpected day off as I had a computer problem. But I’m back and it’s time to talk about the land of the Blues and illegal male arousal- Mississippi. According to Wiki, Bo Carter, Son House, Robert Johnson, Charlie Patton, Muddy Waters, Skip James, Bukka White, Tommy Johnson, Mississippi John Hurt, Willie Brown, Big Joe Williams, Willie Dixon, Howlin Wolf, Albert King, John Lee Hooker, Jimmy Reed, Sonny Boy Williamson II, Big Bill Broonzy, Jimmy Rogers, Bo Diddley, Otis Rush, Otis Spann, and B.B. King are all from Mississippi. Amazing as many of these artists are, I don’t wanna write about any of them right now. I’ll also refrain from Britney Spears. Instead, I will go for Three Doors Down (from Escatawpa, Mississippi). I’ll been playing a hell of a lot of the Facebook iLike Music Challenge and have been barraged with Three Doors Down songs lately. So maybe this will get their music unstuck from my head.

And here’s an Iram Extra. She has been feeling moody and when she gets moody, she turns to music she finds gothy. No, she doesn’t listen to Christian Death or London After Midnight. She’s more of a Cure girl. She admits that the band is more pop new wave than goth but she says that Robert Smith’s image is the goth epitome. “Who was goth before Robert Smith?” asked Iram. Well since the Cure didn’t go Goth until 1980, they are a few years behind Bauhaus. Siouxsie Sioux was even before them. But I’m not gonna nitpick because she’s right- Robert Smith is the ubergoth.

Tomorrow, the state theme takes a rest for a very special day.

And don’t forget to check out the other 10kdays journals! Glenn! Rachael! Andy! Heuristics Inc!, Troy!, Albatross! and Alex!
