Fox….Fox has always been an oddity. When I was a kid, it was probably my favorite TV Channel. It had the Simpsons, Married with Children, Tracy Ullman, Herman’s Head, 90210, Flying Blind. As years went on, the lustre wore off but I still have to admit, Fox has always been a place to find intriguing TV shows. Firefly, Point Pleasant, Tru Calling, X-Files…all Fox. Too bad Fox doesn’t always hold on to their interesting shows. They would rather show crap like Moment of Truth and …5th Grader. They have invested more into their reality and gameshows and have lost me more and more as a viewer. I’m not into American Idol. I don’t watch So You Think You Can Dance (I watch ABDC where they surely can dance and know it). Hell Kitchen doesn’t do anything for me and I just missed the boat on 24 (Does he pee during that crazy 24 hours? How about yawn? Or is he hopped up on 5 Hour Energy the whole way through?). But as always Fox has intriguing things on tap. There’s a new show coming called Fringe. The plot is a bit sketchy (something about a mad scientist, his son and an FBI agent) but it’s to be expected when the show is created by J.J. Abrams, the mad scientist who made Lost and Alias. Lost & Alias both had a lot of good things so there’s some potential. And also swimming with potential is Dollhouse which is the project from Eliza Dushku (Buffy’s “Faith”, Tru Calling’s “Tru”) and Joss Whedon, the mad scientist behind Buffy, Firefly, Angel and Toy Story. Dollhouse is basically about a bunch of people who are brainwashed into servitude and what happens when the brainwashing on one begins to wear off. Like I said, Fox often has the intriguing shows. Let’s see if they stick around. Oh and they’re doing an American version of Brain Wall (“Human Tetris”). I can’t complain about that.

On to the music. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles will survive to see a second season. And they wisely have added more characters. Having the Terminator as the villain is good, but this isn’t like T2. So far the Terminators have been a little less wily and more thug. So, they’ve added a manipulative human to the mix to be played by Garbage’s Shirley Manson. I’m very curious to see where that goes. So here’s some Shirley Manson, pre-Garbage:
