Hey it’s only a little past midnight. What am I doing posting so soon? Well, I usually post at night but I will be busy tonight seeing the amazing Amanda Palmer in concert. Speaking of piano women, the final comic music relationship I’m going to talk about is Tori Amos. Her relationship to comics is threefold. First up, she did the foreword on my #2 favorite graphic novel of all time, “Death, the High Cost of Living”. (If you are the curious type and what to know #1, it’s “The Judas Contract”). She is also considered by many to be Neil Gaiman’s inspiration for the character Delirium.

I can believe that. And the third relation hasn’t happened yet. It’s a project she’s undertaking called “Comic Book Tattoo”. It’s a 500 page book full of short comic book stories from various writers all based on songs from throughout her career (even the “Y Kant Tori Read” days!). Now instead of posting a pic. Here’s a link to a wonderful article on the project featuring a bunch of links to panels from Comic Book Tattoo. http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=15838

I’ve been a fan of Tori’s for a long long time, so this intrigues me. I wonder what the comic interpretations of the Choirgirl Hotel songs will be like?
