Okay I’m going to make a crazy declaration…it’s okay to listen to Carly Simon. Yes, she’s in some ways synonymous with the rise of adult contemporary. Anytime I think of New York soft rock radio, she’s the first thing that comes to mind. But I can’t hate on good music. I can’t stand the movie “Working Girl” but “Let the River Run” is a powerful tune. “You’re So Vain” is classic. And her James Bond theme is one of the best. You can’t hate on a song that’s loved by enough to be covered by Radiohead? It may not be a John Barry classic but it fits in. It’s the song from “The Spy Who Loved Me” and it definitely fits. It’s not the number one Bond theme ever but it’s in my top 5.
