883

Last night on the Trojan War… Aphrodite gave Paris the promise of the prettiest girl in the world. Too bad that the girl was Helen, the wife of Menelaus, the king of Sparta.

Of course, that would be a big problem. Paris decided that since the goddess told him he could have her, he decided that he would go take her. Oracles warned him not too, but that didn’t stop him. He went to Sparta and played it cool and then when Menelaus was otherwise occupied, kidnapped Helen and subsequently married her. That’s when the problems really began. Helen was quite the special woman and she had a lot of men who would do anything for her- not just her husband. And thus, we had the beginnings of a war.

There’s only one song suitable for such a moment, an R&B classic:

Song 883- “Backstabbers” by the O’Jays
