Usually I would wait about 24 hours to put up the next post. This time, I figured about 24 minutes would do. Why? Because in my hunt for more Placebo, I stumbled upon the b-side of their “For What It’s Worth” single. It’s a cover of one of the greatest one hit wonders in history. Sure, in the US, the original only made it to #46 on the charts. It just means that we Americans missed the boat on this one. It was a smash hit all over Europe. At least VH1 redeemed it by listing it in their top 100 one-hit wonders of all time, landing it at #88. Not the highest position but at least it made the countdown. And now that Placebo has a cover of it, who knows. Maybe more people will know the Nik Kershaw song.
